At its core, the Solution Architect’s role is to collaborate with key stakeholders and engineering teams to evaluate business requirements and design solutions using elements of business process, information, and technology which when combined, enhance the platform or solve a specific problem, all while adhering to enterprise architecture standards. Solution Architects define solutions which meet agreed upon business requirements by understanding technical components and parameters, identifying applications and interfaces, and documenting these part-pieces of solutions, building detailed design documents and diagrams that pull it all together.
The Solution Architect is not only responsible for finding answers and designing solutions, but they are also empowered to actively lead a technical vision from concept to completion. They act as a bridge between leadership, key stakeholders, and technical teams, and communicate their solutions in both technical and non-technical terms.
To round out the bridge; Technical knowledge, an ability to communicate, strong collaboration skills, solid teamwork and agility are all key attributes of a Solution Architect.
