Do you want to be part of a team of builders, directly responsible for the expansion and upgrade of Amazon Quick Commerce network across AMET (Africa, Middle East and Turkey) region? Keep reading. This Solution Engineer role will be spearheading the Operational design of all Quick Commerce facilities in the AMET Region. This role navigates between Real Estate, Network planning, Construction and Operations team, to deliver world-class design solutions to address business requirement (cube, throughput) for the Quick commerce sites across UAE, KSA, EGY and more. The Solution Engineer ensure flawless and efficient design development. They: - collect all necessary information from upstream teams (As built; cube and throughput requirements), - contribute to the creation of "As built" drawings when not available from the landlord - deliver world-class design, following established Amazon Quick commerce tenets, with a focus on space optimization and providing creative solutions to accommodate Real Estate challenges - coordinate design reviews and approval with downstream teams - keep track of the Quick Commerce depository, where all facilities are documented - Track and report on pre-execution performance (i.e. SLA) - Participate to cross functional coordination meetings, provide status update to leadership and call out risk related to pre-execution and design - collect lesson learn and propose improvement to the quick commerce design tenets - propose and lead frugal automation initiatives to improve Operational productivity The Solution Engineer also manages monthly communication on behalf of the wider Engineering Services Organization, providing progress updates and performance of the Quick Commerce portfolio to Senior leadership, in close collaboration with Construction team. The Solution Engineer will also be given the opportunity to support the execution of certain quick commerce at proximity from their based location. For this Solution Engineering role, there is a high level of autonomy expected to manage the full portfolio, navigating design development up to 10 sites in parallel. The role will be based in Cairo, with expected travels within the AMET region, up to 10% per year. Ability to speak multiple languages including French, German, Polish, Arabic, Portuguese, Turkish, Chinese (Mandarin), Afrikaans and Zulu are considered preferred qualifications. Key job responsibilities - End-to-end ownership for large-scale engineering projects (planning, design, procurement, installation, commissioning and qualification, launch support) - Dive deep on technical details and provide value engineering and innovative solutions to drive frugality and continuous improvements - Lead technical design reviews and propose design solutions for material handling and storage solutions that meet both business needs and internal standards - Create, submit and track relevant CAPEX requests to ensure that all projects are delivered within budget and best overall value - Assess and communicate project status, drive escalations on potential risks and delays across multiple teams - Own the budget for the scope of the project. Give accurate updates and risk forecast. Gain savings while ensuring quality and performance - Assist in providing equipment specifications and technical support to Procurement, Change Management - Collaborate closely with various internal teams such as Construction, Operations, Reliability Maintenance Engineering, Procurement and Change Management - Responsible for contractor management & teams up to approx 300 people in construction site Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, engineering technology or equivalent, or 5+ years of professional or military experience - Experience with Logistic environment and/or fulfillment design - Proficient on Auto-CAD Preferred Qualifications: - Master's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
