WE ARE LOOKING FOR A SOLUTION SALES LEAD, BUILT ENVIRONMENT

The key motivation for us is to turn our inventions to innovations through collaboration with our customers. For that role we’re looking for someone with prior experience from sales from one or several fields in built environment and mobility technologies. The person we are looking for is a team player able to help and coach our teams in technology transfer to our customers, and to coordinate and execute sales activities. You coordinate business activities between the research area and a number of customer account leads but also drive and look for new business opportunities by yourself and turn leads into orders. You understand basics of the technology fields our team covers and you are hungry to learn more.
We are working with tailored solutions and products that revolutionize tomorrow’s cities. We are proud of our comprehensive research on urban energy solutions, intelligent buildings and building automation, clean-air (HVAC) and nature-based solutions, data-driven circular construction, arctic infrastructure, smart city and mobility solutions, just to name a few. Our customers range from fast growing SMEs to leading international companies mainly in Finland and Europe, but also globally.
The VTT office location for this position is preferably Espoo. Other VTT locations (e.g. Tampere) are negotiable.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • A demonstrated track-record of managing customer relationships, understanding customer needs and enabling our customers’ business growth
  • Several years of experience in a hands-on sales role in consultative solution sales, including a demonstrated ability of selling project entities and solutions that are tailored and fitted to specific customer needs
  • Ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders in a matrix organization and engaging relevant people in building winning cases
  • Understanding of built environment, real estate development or construction industry
  • Good communication skills in Finnish and English, both oral and written, are required. Other possible language skills (German, Swedish, Spanish etc.) are considered as an advantage
  • Excellent negotiation and networking skills
  • Higher level degree in a relevant field
  • Willingness to travel

Our existing clients include a wide variety of companies in Europe and abroad that provide solutions for de-carbonization of cities, circular supply chains, digitalization of construction processes, nature-positive buildings and districts, climate and energy resilient built environment.

WITH US, YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • Coordinating sales activities and building sales pipeline in the Built Environment and Mobility research area together with other salespersons and researchers
  • Ensuring continued business relationships with existing customers
  • Acquiring new customers and driving sales growth in the fields of built environment and mobility
  • Keeping track of the sales funnel in the CRM and ensure timely actions to move opportunities through it
  • Participate with research teams in offers and contract negotiations and taking an active role as member of the research area leadership team
  • Customer centricity coaching of our researchers
  • Contributing to offering creation and service models together with other stakeholders
  • Participating in marketing action planning and execution, participating and coordinating exhibition and events in the field of built environment and mobility
