About the PositionAn established global financial services organisation is seeking an experienced Solutions Architect to join a technology function supporting critical risk and regulatory platforms.This is a senior-level opportunity for an architect who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, shaping modern architectures and working closely with both technology and business stakeholders.

• Key ResponsibilitiesDesign scalable, secure and resilient technology solutions to address complex business and technical requirements.
• Develop and maintain architecture principles, standards and technical best practices across engineering teams.
• Establish effective approaches to CI/CD, DevOps, automation and modern software delivery.
• Build prototypes and proof-of-concepts to assess new technologies and validate proposed solutions.
• Work closely with risk, compliance, product and engineering teams to turn business requirements into practical technical designs.
• Produce high-quality architecture documentation, including UML diagrams, process flows and technical specifications.
• Communicate architectural decisions effectively to a wide range of audiences, from developers and engineers through to senior management and audit teams.
• Provide technical input into technology selection, third-party/vendor assessments and solution cost analysis.
• Support engineering teams through mentoring and guidance around resilient design, security and risk-conscious architecture.

Experience & Technical SkillsThe successful candidate will ideally have:

• 5+ years' experience in Solutions Architecture, Technical Architecture or a comparable senior engineering role.
• Strong knowledge of microservices and service-oriented architecture, preferably within containerised environments.
• Experience working with large-scale data processing and ETL technologies.
• Proven experience designing systems that use multiple database technologies, including:
• Relational databases such as SQL Server or PostgreSQL.
• NoSQL technologies, ideally MongoDB.
• Strong understanding of modern API architectures, including REST and/or GraphQL.
• Experience implementing asynchronous and event-driven architectures using technologies such as Kafka, Redis Streams or similar messaging platforms.
• Strong architectural documentation and visualisation skills, with experience using UML, Visio or comparable tools.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Desirable ExperienceAdditional experience in any of the following would be advantageous:Time-series database technologies, such as Prometheus.
• Graph database platforms, such as Neo4j or TigerGraph.
• Strong hands-on development experience with Python.
• Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
• Previous experience within financial services, risk technology or other highly regulated environments.

What We're Looking ForThis role would suit an architect who combines strong technical depth with excellent communication skills and is comfortable moving between high-level architecture, technical investigation and hands-on proof-of-concept development.The ideal candidate will be able to understand complex problems, challenge existing approaches and design practical solutions that are scalable, secure and maintainable.

Remuneration PackageA strong rate is on offer for the successful candidate. This is a hybrid role, 3 days in the office each week in south Dublin.
