CACG, LLC is hiring a Solutions Architect to design and implement innovative technical solutions that meet business needs. The ideal candidate will possess deep understanding and experience in designing, implementing, and managing robust cloud solutions, with a strong focus on Amazon Web Services (AWS). The Solutions Architect will support translating the customers’ requirements into scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud architectures, and providing technical guidance and advisory throughout the entire project lifecycle.
SKILL LEVEL: 8-10 years of hands-on experience in developing cloud architecture and cloud migration, with a significant portion focused on leveraging Amazon Web Services (AWS)
LOCATION: Remote (primary) with occasional on-site activities required at the client site in the National Capital Region (primarily sites in Quantico, VA and Hanover, MD).
SECURITY CLEARANCE: Applicants must be U.S. citizens and must be capable of obtaining and maintaining a Department of Defense (DoD) issued SECRET level security clearance during employment.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Performed client work in a Federal (DoD preferably) environment (Program Management Office (PMO) or Program Executive Office (PEO)), cloud or systems architecture experience, strong technical writing, design, information management, multi-tasking, time management, and intellectual curiosity.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:
Experience with cloud migration for complex IT systems or applications, Federal (ex. FEDRAMP) and or NIST based cloud security. Deep expertise in utilizing AWS services to include but not limited to the following services: compute (EC2, Lambda, ECS), Storage (S3, EFS), Identity and Access Management (IAM), strong understanding of cloud networking principles(VPC, subnets, routing, direct connect, VPN), and development methodologies (Ex. Lean Agile, Agile, Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)).
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE LEVEL:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent degree, with 8-10 years’ experience providing solutions architecture or hands-on experience in cloud architecture services with a significant portion focused on AWS for federal or commercial enterprise customers.
· Design, develop, and implement highly available, scalable, and secure cloud architectures primarily within AWS.
· Support the planning, execution, and successful migration of legacy on-premise applications, databases, and infrastructure to the AWS cloud.
· Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and engineering and architecture teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical cloud solutions.
· Define and utilize cloud best practices, standards, and governance policies (e.g., security, compliance, cost optimization).
· Support architectural reviews, provide technical guidance, and ensure adherence to architectural principles across multiple projects.
· Evaluate new AWS services and technologies, and recommend their adoption where appropriate to improve efficiency, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
· Develop detailed technical documentation, including cloud architecture diagrams, design specifications, and implementation plans.
