  • This role sits within the Intelligent Infrastructure business and will form a key part of the growing Data, Architecture and Solutions Capability, which is our centre of excellence for digital skills. The Capability team provides a community of colleagues working in and around technology to help you deliver effectively and support your professional development through training, mentoring and opportunities to really stretch your capabilities.
  • You’ll work as part of an Agile team with specialist developers, testers, analysts, and transport subject matter experts to design, develop, deliver and maintain software applications and systems using the latest technologies to deliver innovative solutions across the property and infrastructure sectors and help to make people’s journeys greener, safer, cheaper, and faster.We operate a hybrid working policy and expect colleagues to spend time on client sites and collaborating with colleagues face-to-face, as well as working from a local office. We have offices across the UK.

WSP is looking for an experienced Solutions Consultant to join our industry-leading Intelligent Infrastructure team. We provide technical professional services to transport clients throughout the UK and overseas to deliver tangible value through technology enabled change.
Join us and make a real-world difference by helping to deliver crucial projects for public sector clients, such as using big data to help the DfT provide better rail services, helping road safety officers visualise accident data geospatially, or gathering vital transport planning data using AI-enabled traffic cameras that distinguish and count the different modes of transport.
As a WSP Software Developer, you will play a key role in technical delivery while also leading tasks within a team to provide quality assurance, consultancy, and advisory services on client-facing projects. A LITTLE MORE ABOUT YOUR ROLE…

  • Act as a technical lead during client engagements, providing credible insights and demonstrating practical experience in solving complex software and data challenges
  • Estimate, Design, Build and Deliver software solutions using industry best practice
  • Perform quality assurance reviews of project documentation or consultancy deliverables, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and alignment with best practices and client requirements
  • Help to support and maintain new and legacy software systems, ensuring timely and effective resolutions while maintaining clear communication with stakeholders.
  • Provide consultancy and advisory services, guiding clients on best practices for cloud data architecture and software solutions
  • Input to the continuous improvement of practice and standards within the teamProvide contributions to the future technical strategy of the team
