Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Solutions Engineer (Delivery), Modern Workplace drives the design, execution, and optimization of Microsoft 365 and hybrid-cloud solutions for enterprise customers. In addition to owning complex technical workstreams, this role provides technical leadership to project teams, mentors mid-level engineers, and partners with Pre-Sales architects to scope and estimate new engagements. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable shaping strategy with stakeholders and diving deep into PowerShell or Graph API code to automate enterprise-scale deployments.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 8+ years designing, implementing, and supporting Microsoft 365 or hybrid Microsoft enterprise environments.
  • Proven leadership of multi-phase migrations exceeding 5,000 seats, including coexistence and phased cut-overs.
  • Deep expertise in Exchange Online, Teams (incl. voice/Operator Connect), SharePoint Online/OneDrive, and Power Platform governance.
  • Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID (P1/P2 features, Conditional Access, identity protection, B2B/B2C).
  • Mastery of PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, REST/JSON, and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps/GitHub Actions).
  • Hands-on with BitTitan MigrationWiz, ShareGate, Quest, SkyKick, or comparable tooling; able to customize tool workflows and APIs.
  • Strong understanding of networking, PKI, OAuth/OIDC, SAML, and modern authentication.
  • Experience integrating or migrating from Google Workspace, Okta, or other SaaS identity/content platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead project teams, manage stakeholders, and deliver executive-level status reporting.
  • Exceptional verbal/written communication; able to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • A desire to learn other emerging technologies and skills.
  • Ability to provide training to customers and peers.
  • Ability to work either independently or as part of a team depending on project scope.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert (MS-102) required; additional expert-level or specialty certifications (e.g., Identity & Access Administrator Associate, Security Administrator Associate, Teams Voice Engineer Expert) strongly preferred.
  • Azure Solutions Architect Expert, CISSP, or related security/cloud certifications a plus.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and mentoring others toward certification goals.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged periods of being in a stationary position while working on a computer
  • Must be able to move and/or lift up to 40 pounds at times
  • Must be comfortable operating a computer and/or other office productivity machinery
Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead end-to-end Microsoft 365 migrations (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive) for SMB, Mid-Market, and enterprise customers. Leading discovery, solution architecture, pilot, cut-over, and post-migration optimization.
  • Architect and implement Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) solutions including Conditional Access frameworks, custom authentication flows, identity protection policies, and cross-tenant B2B/B2C collaboration.
  • Design hybrid identity strategies that integrate on-premises Active Directory with cloud services, guide AD consolidation, schema remediation, and directory synchronization topology.
  • Develop and govern certificate management solutions (ADCS / Azure Key Vault) for authentication, VPN, and secure application access—streamlining renewals through enterprise PKI automation.
  • Define and enforce data-governance and compliance frameworks using Microsoft Purview (DLP, retention, sensitivity labels, Insider Risk, eDiscovery Premium).
  • Create reusable automation in PowerShell, Azure Automation, and Microsoft Graph SDKs to accelerate provisioning, compliance reporting, and remediation tasks; publish scripts in internal Git repos and document for reuse.
  • Own cross-platform migration projects (e.g., Google Workspace ? Microsoft 365) including coexistence planning, data mapping, change-management strategy, and tool selection (BitTitan MigrationWiz, ShareGate, Quest).
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting across mail flow, Teams voice, SharePoint architecture, authentication, and device management, act as final point of escalation before product engineering.
  • Collaborate with Pre-Sales teams to develop SOWs, level-of-effort estimates, and high-level designs; present technical solutions to C-level and technical audiences.
  • Mentor Solution Engineer I & II resources, conducting code reviews, pairing sessions, and technical brown-bag lunches.
  • Contribute to practice development by creating delivery templates, “best-practice” runbooks, and thought-leadership blogs / webinars.
  • Maintain documentation including architectural diagrams, test plans, cut-over runbooks, and customer hand-off guides.
  • Participate in discovery and design meetings.
  • Author and revise as-built documentation detailing configuration.
  • Support knowledge transfer as part of the delivery process.
  • Communicate project status and escalate issues to stakeholders in a timely fashion.
  • Earn and maintain existing OEM/industry certifications.
  • Maintain utilization targets based on project pipeline and availability.
  • Identify future potential services opportunities.
