Are you passionate about DevOps and eager to take ownership of critical streaming infrastructure? We are seeking a Junior DevOps Engineer to manage and optimize our Apache Kafka environment, ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance across our IT ecosystem.
Key responsibilities
Administer and operate Kafka clusters, ensuring high-availability production readiness.
Tune Kafka configurations, partitions, replication, and producers/consumers for optimal performance.
Automate infrastructure deployment using TerraForm, Ansible, or similar tools (Infrastructure as Code).
Implement monitoring solutions and troubleshoot performance, latency, and failure issues.
Ensure secure data transmission, access control, and compliance with security best practices.
Integrate Kafka with CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment and automation processes.
Plan for capacity, scalability, and failover strategies.
Collaborate closely with development teams to support Kafka-based applications.
Provide technical support, update documentation, and contribute to the knowledge base.
Required skills & experience
2+ years in DevOps, SRE, or Kafka administration.
Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka (setup, tuning, troubleshooting).
Proficiency in Python or Bash scripting and automation tools (TerraForm, Ansible).
Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and Kubernetes-based Kafka deployments.
Familiarity with Kafka Connect, Ksql, Schema Registry, Zookeeper.
Knowledge of logging and monitoring tools (Dynatrace, ELK, Splunk).
Understanding of networking, security, and access control for Kafka clusters.
Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, ArgoCD).
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills; ITIL certification is a plus.
Ability to work independently and in multicultural teams.

REQUIREMENTS:

EU citizenship.
Fluency in English; additional European languages are a plus.
