We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Sommelier to join our exceptional culinary team at the Grand Hotel Timeo. The selected candidate will be responsible for creating a stunning wine experience that complements our fine dining offerings.
The ideal candidate is not only knowledgeable about wines but also possesses excellent communication and customer service skills, ensuring that guests receive a truly memorable dining experience.
This role reports to the Wine Ambassador and is instrumental in enhancing our guests’ overall culinary journey.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience as a Sommelier in a luxury hotel or fine dining restaurant.
  • Expertise in wine and food pairing, with in-depth knowledge of Italian and international wines.
  • Fluent in English and Italian; proficiency in a third language is a plus.
  • Culinary background is advantageous but not required.
  • Certification from a recognized sommelier association (e.g., AIS, FISAR).
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on guest service.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Responsibilities
  • Curate and manage an extensive and diverse wine list tailored to our exceptional dining offerings.
  • Provide genuine and insightful wine recommendations to guests, enhancing their dining experience.
  • Conduct wine tastings and training sessions for the restaurant team.
  • Maintain inventory control and monitor stock levels, ensuring the best selection is always available.
  • Plan and execute wine-related events and promotions to attract and engage guests.
  • Work closely with the kitchen team to develop wine pairings that elevate the dining experience.
