Description
Company Description Join Sofitel & House Made Hospitality – Redefining Excellence in Australian Hospitality Be part of a dynamic partnership between Sofitel Sydney Wentworth and House Made Hospitality, where innovation, quality, and care come together across 4 unique venues. We're looking for passionate individuals to join our growing team and help shape unforgettable guest experiences. About the Venue: Ascend to the fifth floor for Delta Rue, a lavish and bustling restaurant blending Vietnamese and French influences. Delta Rue evokes the faded old-world elegance of Hanoi’s Old Quarter in the 1920s, featuring a 150-seat interior opening to a verdant terrace that seats an additional 60 guests. At the entrance, the champagne bar provides a sparkling welcome with French bubbles before guests are seated. But it’s the bold Vietnamese flavours that will truly shine. Job Description About the Job: As Head Sommelier, you’ll lead all things wine—driving sales, curating an exceptional wine program, and delivering high-touch guest experiences. You’ll mentor the wine team, shape beverage culture, and represent the venue proudly within the industry. This is a hands-on leadership role where passion, precision, and storytelling come together. Key Responsibilities: Deliver exceptional wine service and host guests with warmth, expertise, and attention to detail. Lead wine list development, supplier relationships, and beverage strategy in collaboration with the Head of Beverage. Recruit, train, and mentor a passionate wine team, fostering a culture of learning and excellence. Manage cellar operations, stock control, and ensure compliance with RSA and industry standards. Represent the venue at tastings, events, and through social media, building its reputation as a wine destination. Qualifications Requirements: Previous experience in a wine service related role, preferably in a high-volume venue Strong wine knowledge and passion for continuous learning and sharing with others. Exceptional guest service and communication skills, with a flair for storytelling. Experience in team leadership, training, and performance development. Familiarity with stock management systems, supplier coordination, and beverage cost control. Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations pertaining to the hospitality industry, including RSA. Flexible schedule with the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Additional Information What Will You Get? Generous group discounts Daily delicious team meals Strong professional development & career progression Working with and learning from some of the industry’s best of the best A positive and caring culture If this sounds like the right opportunity for you, a new challenge in 2025, we look forward to finding out more about you and invite you to apply!
