Description
Your Purpose To provide exceptional sommelier services throughout the onboard venues. The Sommelier also oversees the inventory of all wine lists and trains of all dining service and bar colleagues in order to assure proper service rendering and guests satisfaction. Your Impact • Provides outstanding wine service in all restaurants, assists in the creation of wine menus. • Pair wines with food, recommends wines that will complement the different styles of cuisine and different methods of food preparation. • Reports any complaints about wine service to the Cellar Master, ensuring fast and courteous response to guests. • Provides wine knowledge training to dining service and bar colleagues on a regular basis. • Oversees the inventory of wine and produces reports. • Correctly apply the food safety procedures and food quality requirements related to all processes Your Journey So Far • High School certificate. • At least 2 years’ experience as Sommelier in Luxury/Premium hospitality. • Excellent knowledge of fine wines and premium beverages. • Basic knowledge on food safety. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Passion for hospitality and customer service driven. • Cruise industry experience is an advantage. • Proficiency in Computers. Microsoft programs including but not limited to, Outlook, Word, Excel. Sound knowledge of accounting and computerized dining systems/software. • Fluent in written and spoken English. Any additional European language is considered an advantage. Your Essentials • Passport, visas, certificates as specified by the company and as required for exit from the port of origin and entry into the destination cruising area. • Sommelier certificate. • Food Safety/HACCP or USPH certification.
