Description Position Summary: The primary role for a Vein Center sonographer is to perform diagnostic imaging ultrasounds that include Venous Dopplers, Venous Mappings and Status post Venous Doppler’s (post venous intervention procedures). Scanning will also be required on coverage days for Venous Procedures with the treating providers. Additional ultrasounds may be added to schedule as time and clinical training allows: LE Arterial/ UE Venous/Carotid/ Abdominal. Board Certification (RVT or RVS) from a board standing institution such as CCI or ARDMS is required. HOURS: 4 - ten-hour shifts The sonographer position for the vein center is a flex position and does require cross training into the procedure sonographer position that requires extensive training and knowledge of anatomy and intraoperative ultrasound for guidance. That is only required to fill in when staff is absent. The sonographer will also be required to perform other vascular ultrasound such as: Venous Doppler’s, abdominal, carotid, arterial LE, and arterial UE. Cross training into cardiovascular (echo) will be done at the discretion of the ultrasound department manager and under the guidelines of the company certification policy. · Good communication skills / Able to communicate medical information and patient education · Presentable and professional appearance / Scrub uniforms · Able to problem solve and react quickly in an emergency situation · Reliable and flexible hours · Extremely Organized · Team player · Computer Skills / Imaging –storage + reporting software compliance · Prolonged Standing / procedure days · Physically able to help patients · Physically able to scan in different positions · Perform standing vein mappings (Acceptations may be made with significant experience and obtaining certification within 6 months of hire.) Pushing Charges: Procedures · Procedure Scrub in/ Sterile technique · Lower Extremity Sterilization/ Pre-op Procedure Prep · Room turnover / Cleaning Requirements EDUCATION: Ultrasound School Degree or equivalent or RVT certification or RVS Certification + 2 Years of experience (Pref in Veins)
