Your primary focus will be capturing pristine, high-quality on-location audio to elevate impactful storytelling in a fast-paced environment. This is a brilliant opportunity for a collaborative professional passionate about long-form journalism to thrive within a highly supportive culture. Day to day you will: Collaborate closely with camera crews and reporters on location. Record high-quality sound using boom and lapel mics in varied environments. Monitor multi-channel audio during outside broadcasts and challenging conditions. Maintain and troubleshoot audio equipment to ensure optimal performance. Assist with diverse duties on shoots, including file transfers and transcriptions. Travel regularly for road trips within Australia and occasional international shoots. What you'll bring: Prior experience in long-form story production, current affairs, or documentaries. Technical expertise in multi-channel recording, boom, and lapel microphone usage. Strong adaptability and a willingness to support the team in complex situations. Knowledge of workflows, specifically multi-camera shoots and post-production. A collaborative mindset with a keen interest in new technology and storytelling. Efficiency in managing audio equipment and handling data tasks on location.
