ARE YOU AN EXPERIENCED SOUND TECHNICIAN? CAN YOU OPERATE AND PLOT SOUND FOR SHOWS ON DIGICO SD SOFTWARE. DO YOU ENJOY PROVIDING HANDS-ON SUPPORT SETTING UP SOUND FOR SHOWS? ARE YOU AVAILABLE TO START A FIXED TERM CONTRACT IN LATE MAY UNTIL EARLY APRIL UNTIL MID-DECEMBER?

We are looking for an experienced Sound Technician to join us from late May until mid-December, to assist the Sound Department with show operation and the smooth running and maintenance of shows in our studio theatre at The Other Place. You will work with the team to ensure that effective and efficient technical support is in place for all productions.

Reporting to the Head of Sound, your responsibilities will include (please see the job description and person specification for the comprehensive list):

  • Supporting Sound Designers by creatively assisting in the implementation and realisation of their sound designs.
  • Operating and plotting sound for shows on Digico SD sound desks.
  • Helping with fault-finding, repair and maintenance of sound equipment.
  • Complying with RSC health and safety policies.
  • Supporting production sound in the set up of shows.

The right person for this role will have:

  • Working knowledge and understanding of sound and communications in a theatre environment
  • An understanding and familiarity of Digico T software
  • Good communication and teamworking skills

This role is offered as a full-time, fixed term contract from 19 May 2025 until 14 December 2025, working 48 hours per week average, typically worked 6 out of 7 days, Monday to Sunday, based in Stratford-upon-Avon.
