KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 1–3 years of experience in sourcing, compliance, or supply chain coordination (ideally in retail or fashion).
  • Knowledge of ethical audit frameworks and sustainability standards.
  • Understanding of packaging and labelling regulations across key markets (EU, UK, US, etc).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to manage supplier relationships.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and data management tools.
  • Experience with PLM or ERP systems is a plus.
Responsibilities

THE ROLE

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Sourcing Assistant/Coordinator to support our sourcing and compliance department. This role will play a vital part in ensuring supplier ethical standards are upheld, packaging and labelling meet regulatory and brand requirements, and that procurement processes align with company values and sustainability goals.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Ethical Audit Review & Compliance
  • Review and evaluate supplier ethical audit reports (e.g., SMETA, BSCI, SA8000).
  • Maintain an up-to-date database of supplier compliance statuses.
  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure corrective action plans (CAPs) are in place and monitored.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of ethical sourcing policies and procedures.
  1. Sourcing Support
  • Assist in identifying and evaluating new suppliers and materials.
  • Coordinate sample requests and track timelines for product development.
  • Support the onboarding of new suppliers, ensuring documentation and certifications are collected and validated.
  • Work closely with buyers and product developers to align sourcing activities with business objectives.
  1. Packaging Compliance
  • Review and verify supplier packaging specifications for sustainability, recyclability, and compliance with legal standards (e.g., EU Packaging Waste Directive, UK Plastic Packaging Tax).
  • Ensure packaging materials are approved and meet internal and external requirements.
  • Track changes to packaging regulations and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.
  1. Labelling Compliance
  • Check and validate product labelling for compliance with market-specific regulations (e.g., country of origin, fibre content, safety warnings).
  • Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure labelling accuracy before production.
  • Maintain labelling guidelines and templates in line with global standards and company policies.
