Surface Drilling Division within Sandvik Mining is a world leading supplier of surface mining and construction equipment and related services. We are strengthening and developing our sourcing organization and are now looking for two proactive Sourcing Category Managers in Light Steel and Electrics & Hydraulics categories, for permanent positions in Tampere, Finland.
Your mission
As a Sourcing Category Manager, you will create and implement a winning sourcing category strategy. You will work closely with your colleagues in the sourcing team as well as with the stakeholders in Quality, R&D, Purchasing and Supply departments.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Managing the sourcing category’s supplier relationships and developing cost competitiveness, quality and delivery performance
• Creating and implementing sourcing category strategy in cooperation with your stakeholders
• Actively exploring new opportunities and development potential in the supplier markets
• Managing the RFQ process including maintaining the items and supplier level information in the ERP system
• Negotiating commercial terms with the suppliers and securing the Total Cost of Ownership

About you and what we find important

• You have a suitable university degree and some experience in the manufacturing industry
• You are familiar with all or some of these areas: quality, engineering, manufacturing, purchasing and sourcing
• You have technical knowledge from or an interest towards one of these areas:
• a. most common manufacturing technologies (welding, machining, sheet metal production)

or

• b. hydraulics, electrical / electronic components
• You have excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills and a strong analytical mindset
• You are self-driven and capable of making decisions
• You are willing to travel if needed and you have an ability to work in English. An ability to work in Finnish is a plus.
