Do you want to be part of making the world’s best rock drills? We are now looking for a dynamic and forward-thinking sourcing professional to our rock drill manufacturing’s sourcing team. This position is full-time, permanent and located at Tampere Myllypuro site which is the main product development and manufacturing center for our surface and underground drilling equipment.
About Rock Drills Technology Unit
The Rock Drills Technology Unit is part of the Surface Drilling Division and is responsible for the design, product development, and manufacturing of core component in Sandvik’s drilling equipment – the rock drill. A rock drill must withstand hundreds of millions of impacts during its lifetime in demanding conditions, which is why quality, reliability, and productivity are the cornerstones of our product development and manufacturing. Our modern rock drill factory is designed to meet these requirements by utilizing the latest technology and working methods in the industry.

About your mission

• Set and follow thru that supply chain objectives, targets, and requirements are met within responsibility area.
• Assure that products purchased are cost-effective and meet our high-quality standards.
• Develop and maintain supplier strategies (segmentation, evaluation, development plans).
• Participates in design decisions and influences component choices from a total cost of ownership perspective.
• Responsible for procuring materials and components for production needs within responsibility area.
• Negotiate and manage long-term contracts and collaboration models together with our sourcing network.
• Participate in the selection and risk management of new suppliers.
• Promote responsible procurement.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with relevant stakeholders (e.g. suppliers product development, manufacturing, quality).
• Utilize data and analytics to support decision-making.

About your background and what we find important

• Educational background: BSc or MSc in engineering.
• Experience in at least one of the following manufacturing technologies; metallurgy and foundry / heat treatment process, turning, milling or grinding technology is required.
• Experience in strategic procurement and supplier management.
• Negotiation skills and contract management expertise.
• Ability to analyse data and utilize modern digital tools.
• Proficient in Finnish and English both verbal and written, other languages are considered as an advantage.
