This position involves managing and developing supplier relationships at both national and international levels. The focus is on optimizing costs and supplier structures, as well as conducting negotiations and concluding contracts. Ensuring compliance and ESG requirements, along with close collaboration with internal departments such as quality management, completes the role.

Your tasks:
- Development and implementation of category strategies (make-or-buy, single/dual/multi-sourcing, bundling) with a focus on merchandise; future expansion to other product groups or technical services is possible.
- Conducting price and contract negotiations, negotiating framework agreements, SLAs and Incoterms,
- should-cost calculations, TCO, price and cost structure analyses, and benchmarks to identify potential savings.
- Identification, evaluation and selection of new national and international suppliers (global sourcing, low-cost country sourcing, nearshoring); development of a diversified, resilient supplier portfolio
- Market presence: On-site supplier visits, participation in international trade fairs and building a robust network in relevant procurement markets
- Independent management of assigned product groups in day-to-day business – from demand forecasting and ordering to deadline and price monitoring, including maintenance of purchasing data and contracts in the ERP system.
- Active participation in supplier qualification and development projects: commercial evaluation, support of performance reviews and derivation of measures – in close cooperation with quality management, which is responsible for technical supplier development and audits.
- Participation in cross-functional projects – from early supplier involvement in product development to measures for cost reduction and supply chain resilience.
- Close collaboration with quality, production, logistics, engineering, and marketing.
- Ensuring compliance and ESG requirements in procurement (including LkSG, REACH); reporting to the procurement management.
Your profile:
- Completed studies in business administration, industrial engineering, supply chain management, logistics or a comparable field.
- Professional experience in strategic and/or operational purchasing of a manufacturing company;
- experience in international sourcing and confident handling of the sourcing process (RFI/RFQ/RFP, offer comparison, negotiation, awarding of contracts)
- Mastery of classic purchasing methods: TCO, should-cost, price and cost structure analyses, category management
- Negotiation skills, assertiveness, and intercultural competence
- Proficient use of ERP systems (ideally SAP MM) and MS Office applications
- Fluent German and English skills
- Willingness to travel for supplier visits, trade fairs and networking – nationally and internationally
