Responsibilities

Reporting to the Head of Sourcing, we have an exciting opportunity for a Sourcing Manager to join our central Sourcing team. Collaborating with different teams across the island of Ireland business, our task is to procure products for our Own Brand (OB)/ Private Label (PL) ranges. This role will enable the successful candidate to gain in-depth experience of sourcing and value chain. The successful person will proactively manage projects across many categories, understanding and developing strategies, identifying new opportunities for OB/PL and Musgrave, whilst driving down costs across the OB business in partnership with our Trading functions.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Identify and deliver lowest cost solutions for Musgrave Own Brand/Tertiary products across retail and wholesale.
  • Develop and deliver the annual Sourcing Plan (calendar, timelines, tender format, strategy) for your respective categories to deliver the lowest cost for the business, on time, with the required quality, and with the right supplier.
  • For your respective categories manage the tendering, negotiation and contracting of the required Own Brand/Tertiary products with the appropriate required quality with the right supplier whilst delivering the lowest cost for Musgrave lead projects.
  • Negotiate pricing, MOQs, lead times, and contract terms to optimize cost and ensure supply continuity.
  • Manage and support your respective categories for Buying Group lead projects through all stages of the tender process to deliver the required products with the appropriate required quality with the right supplier at the lowest cost.
  • Promote simplification by continuously, and constructively, challenging current ways of working, with the objective of developing a simpler, faster, better business.
  • Develop strong collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, and with existing and new suppliers.
  • Act as sourcing subject matter expert for your respective categories
  • Analyse and evaluate market intelligence and supplier / competitor trends to optimise sourcing.
  • Build the annual savings budget for your respective categories and provide business updates monthly, quarterly, and annually versus budget.
  • Lead/Support commercial projects/explorations as and when they arise
  • Ensuring compliance with Musgrave policies and procedures.
  • Requirement to travel to production facilities and Buying Group meetings, as and when required. Approx. 5-10%

What we are looking for:

  • Business-focused 3rd Level Qualification
  • Minimum of 3 years Sourcing/Procurement experience
  • Understanding/experience of food manufacturing, local and international
  • Understanding of market dynamics and sound business judgement
  • Strong project management and leadership skills
  • Presentation skills, change management expertise.
  • Attention to detail, ability to prioritize, comfortable with figures and in collecting, analysing, and interpreting data.
  • Ability to work in/lead cross divisional & cross functional teams.
  • Experience in planning, strategic sourcing, negotiating, contracting and supplier management.
  • Experience in managing and delivering large complex projects.
  • Proven ability to engage with key stakeholders to deliver KPI’s.
  • Positive mindset with a can do attitude
  • FMCG experience
