Job Summary: The Sourcing Manager will lead strategic procurement and supplier management for metal building products and related components. You will develop and execute category strategies, drive cost optimization, ensure supply continuity and quality, and partner with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Transportation to deliver value across the organization. You will lead teams and projects as needed. You will lead and train junior personnel as needed. Key Responsibilities: · Develop and implement category strategies for metal building products (steel components, fasteners, coatings, and related items) to achieve cost, quality, and lead-time targets. · Identify, qualify, and onboard suppliers; lead supplier selection, contract negotiations, and long-term agreements. · Manage supplier performance via regular business reviews; drive continuous improvement in cost, quality, delivery, and responsiveness. · Lead supplier development initiatives to resolve quality issues, boost capability, and reduce total cost of ownership. · Collaborate cross-functionally to align on specifications, lead times, inventory targets, and design-for-sourcing opportunities with Engineering and Operations. · Monitor commodity market trends (steel, coatings, fasteners, etc.) and implement hedge guidelines, pricing strategies, or strategic sourcing actions to mitigate volatility and guarantee supply. · Oversee risk management and continuity planning; establish contingency plans for critical components and alternate suppliers. · Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards. · Administer sourcing tools and data integrity in our ERP system (Oracle). Lead cost reduction projects and savings tracking; communicate impact to leadership and Benefits: This is a full-time position with competitive compensation and benefits package, including health insurance, 401(k) plan, and paid time off. Requirements Qualifications: · Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Business, or a related field. · 9+ years of strategic sourcing/procurement experience, preferably in metal manufacturing, construction materials, or metal building products. · Strong negotiation, contracting, and supplier management skills. · Proven ability to lead cross-functional programs and influence without formal authority. · Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and data analytics (Excel, Power BI, or similar). · Knowledge of manufacturing and quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ASTM). · Analytical mindset with a track record of delivering cost savings and supplier performance improvements. · Domestic travel up to 25% depending on role needs. · Certifications such as CPSM, CPIM, CIPS, Six Sigma, or equivalent. · Prior experience with steel supply chains, metal finishing, coatings, fastener, or building accessory categories. · Familiarity with supplier quality audits, supplier development, and root-cause problem solving.
