OBJECTIVE: The Purchasing Agent, Fabrics is responsible for the purchasing and procuring the appropriate merchandise mix based on production plan for our garments. RESPONSIBLE FOR: › Partner with vendor to source fabrics › Follow-up with vendors/factories on all fabrics style and communicate any change or additional details › Follow up with suppliers, technical drawings and production; facilitate communication within the company › Contribute positively to team Dynamics › Negotiate product quality, purchase quantity, landed cost, and delivery with vendors REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: › 3-5 years of experience in the fashion industry with buying responsibilities is essential › Knowledge of Trims will be considered a major asset › Outstanding interpersonal skills (Team oriented) › Bilingual (English and French) written and spoken › Demonstrated detail orientation; high sense of organization; › Ability to manage multiple projects; › Must have strong problem-solving skills that allow for a proactive approach to the business and organizational skills necessary to complete multiple tasks with deadlines › Ability to work in a fast-paced environment TECHNICAL SKILLS: › Must possess basic Microsoft and Excel skills Joseph Ribkoff is an equal opportunity at will employer and does not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of age, race, religion, color, disability, sex, sexual orientation or national origin.
