SUMMARY

The role of the Sourcing Specialist involves material activities, focusing on sourcing materials at competitive rates, negotiating with suppliers, assessing cost breakdowns, and ensuring quality standards. Additionally, the Supplier Sourcing Specialist provides crucial support to quoting and purchasing functions, facilitating smooth coordination and enhancing efficiency across departments. This role requires close collaboration with various teams to accurately forecast business requirements and make informed sourcing decisions aligned with demand requirements.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

· Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field.
· Minimum of 4 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
· Certification in supply chain management (CPSM, CSCP) preferred.

· Supplier Qualification:

  • Support or conduct pre-screening activities to qualify alternative supply sources for key products and services, focusing on risk mitigation and cost reduction opportunities.
  • Conduct market analyses to inform the selection of strategic suppliers in line with commodity strategies

Responsibilities

· Supplier Database Management:

  • Maintain a complete and current Approved Vendor List (AVL) and Approved Supplier List (ASL), ensuring adherence to strict process requirements.
  • Regularly update supplier files and documents to keep the AVL/ASL current.

· Supplier Qualification:

  • Support or conduct pre-screening activities to qualify alternative supply sources for key products and services, focusing on risk mitigation and cost reduction opportunities.
  • Conduct market analyses to inform the selection of strategic suppliers in line with commodity strategies.

· Negotiation and Procurement:

  • Negotiate prices, quantities, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
  • Manage Requests for Quotes (RFQs) for sourcing goods aiming to achieve savings based on targeted specifications.
  • Analyze and compare RFQ data considering various factors like cost, quality, and service
  • Generate quote comparisons and contribute to internal supplier selection processes.
  • Work with the estimating department to ensure customer requirements are met.

· Supplier Performance and Relationship Management:

  • Monitor supplier capabilities and capacities to appropriately distribute workloads.
  • Maintain long-lasting relationships with suppliers and provide support to site buyers/procurement specialists as needed.

· Contract and Compliance Management:

  • Track contract renewals, extensions, and modifications.
  • Arrange supplier meetings for negotiations, capacity and capabilities reviews, etc.
  • Coordinate with Supplier Quality and Quality Assurance teams to ensure all suppliers are in good standing on the approved supplier list.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, maintaining a safe, secure, and legal work environment.

· Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Cooperate with colleagues at all levels inside and outside the company to reach team goals and business objectives.
  • Recognize and respond to customer expectations with a sense of urgency.
  • Work to achieve the highest delivered quality at the lowest possible cost, supporting company targets.

· Innovation and Goal Setting:
