Description The Sourcing Specialist is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and securing suppliers to support new business initiatives. This role works cross-functionally with sales, finance, operations, and procurement to develop cost-effective sourcing strategies that enable the company to pursue new customers, products, and programs. The position plays a critical role in evaluating supplier capabilities, negotiating pricing, and establishing supply chains for emerging opportunities. In addition to sourcing and evaluating new opportunities, the specialist will be responsible for procuring packaging materials required to support production and customer programs. The candidate must ensure cost-effective procurement, reliable supply, and compliance with packaging specifications and production timelines. RESPONSIBILITIES: Essential Functions: Supplier Identification & Development Identify and evaluate potential suppliers for new product categories and customer programs. Conduct supplier capability assessments, including quality, capacity, cost structure, and lead times. Develop and maintain a pipeline of qualified suppliers across key product categories. Consistently navigating the supplier framework for capabilities and recent initiatives that change the landscape of the Nutraceutical space. New Business Support Partner with Account Managers and Business Development teams to support new customer opportunities. Source and evaluate materials and components required for new programs. Develop cost comparison strategies to evaluate new product opportunities. Pricing & Cost Management Request, analyze and compare supplier quotations. Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and supply agreements. Identify cost reduction opportunities through supplier competition, volume consolidation, and alternative sourcing strategies. Purchasing & Order Management Issue purchase orders and manage procurement activities based on production forecasts and inventory levels. Monitor open purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of materials. Maintain accurate purchasing records within the accounting systems. Supply Chain Strategy Establish sourcing strategies that balance cost, lead time, risk, and scalability. Work with operations and production teams to ensure suppliers meet Multi-Pak requirements. Support sourcing decisions related to new product launches and production ramp-ups. Contract & Supplier Relationship Management Negotiate supply agreements and commercial terms. Develop long-term supplier relationships for strategic product categories. Monitor supplier performance and address quality, delivery, or cost issues. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with procurement, finance, engineering, and operations teams. Provide sourcing insights to support customer quoting and financial modeling. Support transition from sourcing to procurement once programs are awarded. Requirements · Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain & Logistics · 7+ years of relevant experience in Supply Chain, Supply Planning, or Demand Planning areas · Established relationships in the packaging industry · Experience sourcing new products and assisting in new business opportunities in the packaging industry · Solid communication and presentation skills · Advanced technical /computer skills – Excel, PowerPoint · Strong quantitative and analytical skills · Strong Collaboration Skills · Strong negotiating skills, time management & organization skills · Manages multiple priorities effectively · Excels both within a team environment & works with minimal supervision · Ability to communicate in a professional manner via e-mail, phone or personally in a corporate setting.
