POSITION SUMMARY:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Sous Chef to join our catering team, specializing in healthy meal preparation. The ideal candidate will have a passion for nutritious cuisine, a strong culinary background, and the ability to support the Head Chef in delivering exceptional healthy meals. This role involves assisting with menu execution, managing kitchen operations, and ensuring that every dish meets our high standards for both taste and nutrition.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a catering or restaurant environment.
  • Strong knowledge of healthy cooking techniques, nutrition, and dietary restrictions.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional cooking experience preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with special diets such as vegan, gluten-free, or low-carb.
  • Knowledge of sustainable and organic food sourcing practices.
  • Certification in food safety and sanitation.

Responsibilities

  2. Support the Head Chef in implementing and executing healthy meal menus.
  3. Assist in preparing and presenting dishes that align with dietary requirements and health standards.
  4. Kitchen Management:
  5. Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation and cooking.
  6. Manage and supervise kitchen staff to ensure efficient and effective kitchen performance.
  7. Food Preparation:
  8. Prepare and cook dishes according to recipes and specifications, ensuring consistency and quality.
  9. Assist in creating and testing new recipes that meet healthy eating guidelines.
  10. Quality Control:
  11. Monitor food quality, presentation, and taste, making adjustments as needed.
  12. Ensure that all food handling and preparation practices adhere to safety and hygiene standards.
  13. Inventory and Ordering:
  14. Assist in managing kitchen inventory, including ordering and stock control.
  15. Ensure the use of fresh, high-quality ingredients and proper storage techniques.
  16. Team Support:
  17. Provide guidance and support to kitchen staff, including training on healthy cooking techniques and best practices.
  18. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
  19. Client Interaction:
  20. Collaborate with the Head Chef to accommodate special dietary requests and client preferences.
  21. Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through consistent meal quality and presentation.
  22. Compliance:
