Job Description

We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team in Nottingham, United Kingdom. As a key member of our kitchen leadership, you will work closely with the Head Chef to create specials menus, manage daily operations, and inspire our team to deliver exceptional dining experiences.

  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop and execute a la carte, specials and function menus
  • Lead and mentor the kitchen team, fostering a positive and professional work environment
  • Ensure consistent high-quality food preparation and presentation across all dishes
  • Manage inventory, food costs, and kitchen resources efficiently
  • Maintain strict adherence to food safety and sanitation standards
  • Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction
  • Assist in staff scheduling and training to meet operational needs
  • Oversee kitchen operations in the Head Chef’s absence
  • Contribute to menu planning, including daily specials and seasonal updates
  • Monitor and maintain kitchen equipment, arranging repairs when necessary

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or strong Chef de Partie ready for advancement
  • Professional experience or relevant qualifications
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in a high-volume, high-quality kitchen environment
  • Exceptional culinary techniques and knowledge of various cuisines
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Positive, collaborative attitude with a passion for creating memorable dining experiences
  • Current food safety certification
  • Proficiency in kitchen management software
  • Creativity and innovation in menu development and food presentation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
