SOUS CHEF REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:

  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant fine dining restaurant experience is required.
  • Strong people management and leadership skills.
  • Culinary and/or college degree recommended, with considerable working knowledge of relevant food preparation.
  • Genuine passion for cooking, restaurant hospitality, and continuous learning.
  • Highly organized, productive, and capable of meticulous work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Energetic, friendly personality with a strong willingness to work as part of a cohesive team and support colleagues, regardless of role.
  • Willingness to take direction from Chefs, embrace change and innovation, and adapt to new systems, service steps, and health and cleaning procedures.
  • Broad and flexible availability to work AM/PM shifts, prep, and production as needed.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to handle and carry trays, smallware, equipment, or other items up to 50 lbs, and to stand, walk up and down stairs, and exert well-paced mobility for extended periods.
Responsibilities
  • Preparing and executing the menu at the direction of Executive Chefs with the utmost quality, precision, and consistency.
  • Mastering proficiency in various stations as assigned by Chefs, ensuring stations are cleaned, stocked, and ready for service while maintaining active communication with the team to ensure a smooth kitchen operation.
  • Thriving in a high-intensity kitchen and maintaining the quality and consistency of dishes during busy services.
  • Supporting other kitchen areas and assisting teammates as needed, including taking on responsibilities in pastry, pasta, or prep when required.
  • Maintaining a clean, sanitized, and organized workstation during each shift, strictly adhering to Department of Health (DOH) guidelines.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned by the Chefs.
