As part of the team at Belle Marche, the Sous Chef is responsible for ensuring smooth kitchen operations, maintaining food quality, and deliver an excellent dining experience through food. This is a hands-on role and will work closely with the head chef for menu execution.

SKILLS

· Previous experience cooking required
· Previous leadership experience in the kitchen an asset
· Strong communication and organizational skills
· Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
· Flexibility with working evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
· Attention to detail
· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand on feet for extended periods of time

Responsibilities

· Assist in daily kitchen operations, including menu planning, prep, cooking, and service
· Supervise and support kitchen staff, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to standard
· Maintain quality, consistency, and visual appeal of food dishes
· Oversee inventory and assist with ordering supplies while minimizing food waste
· Ensure all food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards are upheld
· Lead kitchen staff in the head chef’s absence
· Train and mentor junior staff to build a positive and productive kitchen environment
· Contribute ideas for menu specials and seasonal offerings
