We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Sous Chef to join our team and support the leadership of Bannister’s Restaurant’s kitchen operations.

Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW:

Working under the guidance of our Head Chef, the Sous Chef plays a pivotal role in overseeing food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations. Responsibilities include leading and coaching the kitchen team, enforcing food hygiene and safety, maintaining equipment and inventory, and upholding quality standards. The Sous Chef will also participate in menu development and recipe testing.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Motivate and support the kitchen team to ensure effective daily operations.
  • Oversee food preparation and presentation, ensuring all dishes meet quality standards.
  • Monitor and analyse customer feedback striving for a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering supplies to minimise waste and control costs.
  • Ensure compliance with food hygiene, health and safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Train, develop, and motivate kitchen staff to perform at their best.
  • Work in collaboration with the Front of House team to ensure excellence in customer dining experiences.
  • Deputise in the absence of the Head Chef.
  • Handle any kitchen-related issues, including equipment maintenance and problem-solving.
