Sous Chef – Cool Branded Fresh Food Eatery
Location: Manchester
Salary: £30,000 + Bonus + Benefits
Full time: 45 Hours (Opening hours: 11am-9pm/10pm)
Our client, a cool and hugely popular branded fresh food eatery, is looking for a highly experienced, hands-on and passionate Sous Chef from a branded background for their new opening in Manchester.
We are looking for a hands-on, personable and Sous Chef with a strong passion for healthy fresh food and solid proven all-round management experience. The candidate will be full of personality, have a real passion for fresh food, healthy eating and will be able a strong advocate as the face of the business - a real all-rounder!

As Sous Chef, you will:

  • Confidently lead and inspire a team of passionate chef and assistants.
  • Support the Kitchen Manager and General Manager in the running of the operation including the recruitment, induction and on boarding of any new Kitchen team members.
  • Demonstrate your leadership with a hands-on approach and effective communication, engaging and motivating your team through pre-shift briefs.
  • Be fully responsible for menu development and costings.
  • Budgeting - stock control, labour costs and food margins, cost of sales, .
  • Manage NSF, EHO, Food Safety, allergens and Health and Safety audits to a high standard.
  • Deliver to spec and brand standards.
  • Drive individual high performance through development and regular one to ones.
  • Have an eye for detail and thrive in a high volume fast paced environment.
  • Show passion for the brand, visible when ensuring your team are knowledgeable and confident.

The ideal candidate for this role will:

  • Strong experience as a Senior/Sous Chef working for a structured branded operator.
  • Have solid kitchen management and strong leadership skills as an inspiring leader of all kitchen operation.
  • Have strong back of house and compliance skills ensuring standards are kept consistently high, EHO/Food Safety/Health & Safety regulations are met, audited and regularly documented.
  • Strong technical skills with experience of using and setting up systems
  • Be motivated and highly organised and preferably have previous experience within a similar role.
  • Have a passion for hospitality, quality service and an excellent food knowledge.
  • Be enthusiastic, have a desire to exceed guest expectations and want to impress and progress.
  • Understand the financial and commercial aspects of the business.
  • You must have full eligibility to work in the UK to be considered for this position.
  • A great communicator - excellent at developing relationships with the front of house team, senior management and others involved
