JOB SUMMARY:

This job requires EVENINGS and WEEKENDS
We are seeking a talented and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic team at BUTCHIES INC., which includes Butchie’s Meat and Three Restaurant and Catering, Dish Play Culinary Event Space and Pompillio’s Italian Catering. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and overseeing the production of high-quality meals for various events, ensuring all culinary operations meet the highest standards of excellence. This role requires creativity, strong leadership, and a deep understanding of diverse culinary techniques and cuisines.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven experience as a sous chef or in a similar role in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage a team and work under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with clients and staff effectively.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
  • Driving company van - clean driving record

Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Production:
  • Oversee the preparation, cooking, and presentation of all catering orders.
  • Ensure all food is prepared to the highest standards of quality, taste, and presentation.
  • Monitor portion and waste control to maintain profit margins.
  • Commissary Prep for Butchie’s Restaurant - maintaining communication with the executive chef
  • Collaborate with the catering manager to create custom menus that meet specific event requirements.
  • Execute plated meals for events
  • Kitchen Management:
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring they adhere to all food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Coordinate kitchen activities and ensure efficient workflow and timely production.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.
  • Quality Control:
  • Conduct regular inspections of kitchen and storage areas to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Implement and maintain standard operating procedures for all kitchen processes.
  • Inventory and Ordering:
  • Manage inventory levels and ensure the availability of necessary ingredients and supplies.
  • Place orders for food and kitchen supplies, maintaining relationships with vendors.
  • Executing Events Onsite and Offsite
  • Driving to offsite events and setting up a kitchen
  • Managing the kitchen team at onsite events at Dish Play
