Café Bar 1780 is a brand-new opening in the heart of Glasgow’s stylish Prince’s Square. We’ll be serving an all-day menu with breakfast, brunch, light lunches, and evening dining featuring quality steaks, burgers, and more. Add in regular live music and events, and 1780 is set to be a buzzing new hotspot where food and atmosphere go hand in hand.
We’re looking for a Sous Chef to join our opening team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of an exciting venue from day one, working alongside our Head Chef to help set standards, lead services, and support the growth of a strong, motivated kitchen team.

Responsibilities

As Sous Chef, you’ll be the Head Chef’s right hand – running services smoothly, stepping up in their absence, and helping to keep everything consistent, efficient, and to standard.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Supporting the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations
  • Leading services and supervising the team
  • Training and mentoring junior chefs
  • Ensuring consistent quality and presentation across all dishes
  • Managing prep, stock, and kitchen organisation
  • Bringing ideas to seasonal specials and event menus
