Responsibilities

YOUR ROLE

As Sous Chef, you’ll work closely with the Head Chef to ensure smooth day-to-day kitchen operations, delivering high standards in both food production and hygiene. You’ll supervise service, train team members, and help develop seasonal dishes. This is a hands-on role for a skilled leader who can inspire a team while maintaining consistency, creativity, and control.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the Head Chef in running a fast-paced kitchen efficiently and effectively.
  • Oversee food preparation and ensure dishes are executed to the restaurant’s standards and recipes.
  • Train and supervise junior kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to food hygiene and safety standards.
  • Monitor stock levels and mise en place; manage ordering and reduce waste through effective stock rotation.
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness, safety, and allergen protocols at all times
  • Liaise effectively with both Front and Back of House teams to ensure smooth service.
  • Uphold food cost controls and assist in achieving departmental budget targets.
  • Take responsibility for the kitchen pass during service, ensuring timing, presentation, and quality.
