SOUS CHEF – MODERN GASTRO PUB (NORTH YORKSHIRE)

We’re looking for a passionate Sous Chef \ Junior Sous ready to step up and join our client’s growing team in their recently launched gastro pub based near Ripon, North Yorkshire.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Pub service hours:

  • Wednesday – Dinner only
  • Thursday – Saturday – Lunch & Dinner
  • Sunday – Lunch service only (12–6)
  • Monday & Tuesday – Closed
  • Small, focused brigade including Head Chef, CDP and Commis, with additional support where needed.
  • Menu: Modern pub classics – not huge, but everything is made from scratch with a focus on quality.
  • Progression opportunities: Training and experience available across all of our client’s 6 restaurants, all located nearby.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the Head Chef with menu development and daily specials.
  • Lead the kitchen team in the Head Chef’s absence, ensuring smooth service.
  • Maintain high standards of food preparation, presentation, and consistency.
  • Support with ordering, stock control, and waste management.
  • Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are upheld at all times.
  • Train, motivate, and support junior kitchen staff.
