We are looking to recruit passionate individuals to join our operation family at an award-winning venue based on the outskirts of Taunton. Crowcombe Court is an industry-leading wedding venue set within a stunning Georgian manor house nestled within the Quantock hills with breathtaking, panoramic views over the area of outstanding beauty. This is a new and exciting period for Crowcombe Court emerging from the pandemic stronger, with a clear progression of growth throughout the business - this is an amazing time to join and be part of our family.

Reporting to our executive chef, our Chefs will need to poses

  • Level 1 and 2 Food Safety Awards
  • Minimum 6 months relevant experience
  • Awareness of manual handling techniques
  • Awareness of Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH) and chemical safety
  • Experience of kitchen equipment
  • Experience of dangerous equipment such as knives
  • Competent level of English spoken and written

Alongside some of these more general skills, all good Sous Chefs should possess:

  • Basic knowledge of all sections
  • Ability to work under the supervision of a limited range
  • Ability to produce good quality basic food
  • Understanding of health and safety
  • Understanding of basic food hygiene practices
  • Good oral communication
  • Team management skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Good level of numeracy Enthusiasm to develop your own skills and knowledge plus those around you
  • Adaptability to change and willingness to embrace new ideas and processes
  • Ability to work unsupervised and deliver quality work
  • Positive and approachable manner
  • Team player qualities

The ideal candidate will be personable, presentable and possess outstanding team working abilities throughout the kitchen environment. With a bubbly personality, we are looking for candidates that thrive under the fast-paced nature of the hospitality sector. We are looking for the following desirable qualifications but not essential:

  • City & Guilds 706/1 Catering
  • NVQ Level 1
  • Level 2 Health and Safety in the Workplace Award
  • Level 3 Food Safety Awards

The salary for this position is negotiable for the right candidate.
