SOUS CHEF (FULL-TIME)

We are a small, busy bistro looking for a Sous Chef who can take charge in the kitchen and support all aspects of our operation. In a small team, everyone does a bit of everything — from prepping and cooking, to plating, organizing the line, supporting dishwashing, and maintaining cleanliness. This role is ideal for someone who is hands-on, adaptable, and ready to grow with us.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous experience as a cook, sous chef, or kitchen lead (restaurant experience required).
  • Strong cooking skills across multiple stations.
  • Ability to multitask and handle pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Leadership skills and willingness to take responsibility.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities
  • Lead kitchen operations when the Head Chef/Owner is not present.
  • Prepare and cook menu items to a high standard, ensuring consistency and presentation.
  • Oversee food prep, storage, and rotation in line with food safety standards.
  • Support the kitchen team with cooking, plating, and cleaning as needed.
  • Assist in training and guiding junior staff.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.
  • Work closely with the front of house team to ensure smooth service.
