Sous Chef
Nestled in 200 acres of bushland, The Tops Conference Centre offers a unique opportunity to cook fresh, nutritious meals for school groups and community organisations. At The Tops mealtimes are an opportunity for connection where food is a shared experience despite someone’s dietary restrictions.
About the Role

You will work with the Head Chef to design menus, procure fresh and healthy food products and kitchen supplies as well as directing the kitchen team about food preparation and delivery and:

  • Prepare and serve high-quality meals that meet diverse dietary needs
  • Promote a kitchen culture that elicits high engagement and a coach like approach that encourages feedback, growth and development in the team
  • Conduct regular reviews of food and hospitality services for optimal guest experience
  • Contribute to menu design that considers varied ingredients, choices, and supports healthy nutritional value
  • Comply with food standards and relevant industry and statutory requirements

What You Bring

As an experienced Chef/Sous Chef you will have:

  • Diploma or Cert III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent experience
  • Enjoy working in a high-volume kitchen environment and know the shortcuts to make service run smoothly
  • Experience with dietary requirements and food safety compliance
  • Ability to coach, mentor and lead others to ensure the shift runs smoothly
  • A friendly, reliable attitude, willingness to improve your skills and a heart for service
