GUEST EXPERIENCE

  • Champion a positive guest culture through food quality, service, and presentation.
  • Design guest-focused menus and organize food & beverage activities.
  • Oversee preparation, presentation, and cleanliness to ensure consistent quality.
  • Handle guest feedback and escalate issues when required.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

  • Full working rights in Australia without restrictions (a kind reminder sponsorship is not available for this role)
  • Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery is essential
  • Understanding of food standards
  • Mandatory certifications include Food Safety Certificate and First Aid.
  • 5 years’ experience working as a chef in either hotel or restaurant environments with at least 2 years supervisory experience in kitchen operations
  • Experience working in a culinary environment servicing multiple outlets will be key and exposure to an open kitchen environment would be an advantage
  • Holds a current food safety certification
  • Ability to inspire passion, enthusiasm and positivity in the team to drive an engaged, winning culture.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to engage well with both the team and guests

Responsibilities

As Sous Chef with InterContinental Sydney Double Bay, you will be second in charge in a busy hotel kitchen providing support to the Executive Chef and leadership to the Kitchen team. This is a hands-on role with full participation in the daily production of food to ensure planning and direction of service is produced to the highest quality and consistency to ensure hotel quality and revenue goals are met and costs are controlled.
