Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

As our Sous Chef, you’ll work closely with our exceptional Head Chef, who is dedicated to mentoring and guiding the team honing their individual skills and encouraging creativity in the kitchen.
To be successful in this role you’ll have proven experience in a similar role, strong leadership skills, great communication and enjoy a collaborative approach. You will also have a passion for utilising the best seasonal produce locally sourced from small farms and producers to deliver wholesome and nourishing products to our customers.
Working in a small team and reporting to the head Chef, North Street Store operates 7 days a week serving gourmet takeaway breakfast, lunch daily and dinners service which is available Monday to Friday.

· Afternoon evening shifts 1pm – 9pm Monday to Friday (when required to support the team the successful candidate must be willing to be flexible to work the weekend if required)

DUTIES

  • Lead and manage from the front to deliver consistency in products and service.
    · Assisting the Head Chef with inventory and ordering of supplies, maintaining cost controls, minimising waste and ensuring stock rotation.
    · Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely and efficient service.
    · Prepare and cook a variety of creative and delicious dishes, ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and quality.
    · Be a leader in food hygiene and workplace health and safety practices
    · Ensure the smooth running of the kitchen team in the absence of the Head Chef.
    · Mentorship of junior kitchen staff to maintain a cohesive and productive team dynamic, co- ordinating and fulfilling catering orders
    · Co-create exciting and healthy menu items that will continue to grow our delicious breakfast and lunch and new dinner offering
    · Drive customer satisfaction through delivering exceptional food to North Street Store customers
