We are looking for a talented SOUS CHEF to join our established kitchen team at Simonstone Hall Hotel & Restaurant — with very exciting plans for the future.
Currently operating as a 20-bedroom country hotel and restaurant, with bar and terrace. Small number of exclusive-use weddings and events. Stunning National Park, rural location, with great transport links and local amenities. Driving is desirable, but not essential.
We’re looking for a friendly and motivating individual to work in our well-established team; bringing energy, creativity and business-focus, as we set-out our foodie direction for the coming years with us. Working with the wider team is paramount and FUN is essential. We all want to have a good time at work, with a serious attitude to delivering for our guests; many of whom are regulars.
We have a very exicitng role, which also (and quite uniquely) offers great work-life balance too. A four-day working week in Summer, and a three consecutive nights off through the winter months.
The perfect candidate will have the creative talents and culinary skills to allow them to put their stamp on things, as part of our collaborative team, and will have a passion for food provenance, sustainability and the Yorkshire countryside.
We aim to deliver an exciting taste of the season, skills and the location - and ensuring top quality for our guests and diners is key! We have a great repuation for quality and consistent food, via our bar, lounges and dedicated restaurant too.

We’re looking for full-time, and long-term candidates with great restaurant and kitchen management experience, however, a candidate looking to step-up in responsiblity will be well-supported under our very experienced Head Chef.

  • Strong leadership abilities to motivate and guide team members effectively.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
  • Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable.
