PART-TIME SOUS CHEF AT JLB KITCHEN
Are you passionate about creating delicious, wholesome meals that bring joy to people’s lives? JLB Kitchen is on a mission to provide healthy, chef-prepared, nutritionist-approved meals to help people reach their goals and feel their best.
We are seeking a dedicated Part-Time Sous Chef to join our team, working Thursdays and Fridays (to start), 9 AM to 5 PM, at a rate of $23–$25 per hour plus an incentive program, and free on-site parking.
Responsibilities:
YOUR ROLE:
This position is 100% Hands on. Reporting to the Executive Chef, the Sous Chef will oversee kitchen operations during their shifts, ensuring the highest quality in food preparation and service. The ideal candidate will assist in managing the team, maintaining food safety standards, and contributing to recipe innovation. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to grow their career, mentored by an experienced and award-winning Executive Chef, John Morris. This has the potential to grow into a full time Chef de Cuisine position if desired.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise, coordinate and perform food preparation and cooking activities.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Support the Executive Chef with inventory management and ordering supplies while controlling food costs.
- Provide leadership during preparation, ensuring smooth kitchen operations and resolving challenges as they arise.
- Assist in creating new recipes and menu items.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a positive work environment.
- Assist in maintenance of kitchen facilities and equipment to ensure proper functioning and cleanliness.
- Actively seek feedback on food quality and address customer concerns.
