OVERVIEW

Hometown Restaurant Group is seeking a experienced and passionate Sous Chef/Kitchen Manager to help lead our kitchen at Tigerlily in downtown Ferndale. This position will play a crucial role in the kitchen, assisting the Executive Chef in managing day-to-day kitchen operations, including monitoring food quality, work flows and directing the culinary team. This position will focus on kitchen operations on our hot line, and requires strong leadership abilities and a deep understanding of food management within a fast-paced environment. The Sous Chef/Kitchen Manager will also be involved in banquet and event services, including food preparation and coordination with staff.

EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role within the food industry, demonstrating exceptional cooking skills and culinary knowledge.
  • Leadership experience with the ability to manage a diverse team of individuals effectively in a high-pressure environment.
  • Familiarity with food production techniques, kitchen equipment, and safety regulations, including fry, grill and sauté stations, and food preparation.
  • Strong organizational skills with an emphasis on time management and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with staff and guests.
  • At least 4 years of experience in Kitchen experience leadership/management experience.
  • Experience preparing Asian cuisine (preferred).
  • Familiarity with sushi offerings and combinations (preferred).
    The ideal candidate for this position has exceptional cooking skills and culinary knowledge, and is just as comfortable learning new recipes and techniques as they are guiding and mentoring kitchen staff. This position, in conjunction with the Executive Chef, are responsible for scheduling, training and the overall operation and development of the kitchen’s hot line, including managing staff and inventory. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to foster a professional culture of excellence and personal accountability. Responsibilities
