Lokum Eats is seeking a motivated, passionate, and skilled Sous Chef to help lead our kitchen team. Located in the heart of Toronto’s Junction neighbourhood , Lokum Eats is a boutique restaurant dedicated to showcasing the depth and diversity of authentic Turkish cuisine. Far beyond the typical kebab house, our menu celebrates regional specialties and refined Ottoman-era dishes, offering a culinary experience that has earned us outstanding reviews and a loyal local following.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is ready to step into a culinary leadership role. You will work closely with our Chef/Owner to maintain the highest standards of food quality, consistency, and creativity.
QUALIFICATIONS
2–3 years of experience in a fast-paced or high-volume kitchen
Previous experience in a leadership or team lead role preferred
Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
Passion for Turkish or Mediterranean cuisine is a strong asset
Positive attitude and dedication to teamwork
Legally eligible to work in Canada
Valid Food Handling Certification (required)

Assist the Head Chef with daily kitchen operations, food prep, and menu development
Supervise and coordinate the kitchen team during service
Ensure all dishes meet quality, presentation, and timing standards
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff
Step in as acting Head Chef when required
Uphold and enforce food safety and cleanliness standards
