MJ Hobans is seeking an experienced Part Time/Full Time Sous Chef to work in a busy Gastropub/Restaurant.
The ideal candidate for this role will have a positive, enthusiastic approach to food, hygiene, and kitchen management.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting the head chef in leading, training and managing the kitchen team.
  • Managing the day-to-day operations of the kitchen in the head chefs absence.
  • Maintaining and implementing HACCP procedures and records
  • Directing food preparation and production
  • Addressing customer issues promptly alongside the management team
  • To make certain the highest standard of food quality, presentation and service are achieved and maintained within a fast-paced environment

Experience required:

  • Ability to lead kitchen operation in Head Chef’s absence.
  • Strong communication skills and focus on teamwork
  • Basic Food Hygiene
  • Experience in a professional kitchen or productive catering
  • Experience of H.A.C.C.P documentation
  • Dedication and self-motivation
  • Good reliability and time keeping
  • Courteous, calm manner

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: From €16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
