SOUS CHEF – LONDON – COMPETITIVE SALARY

Our client is seeking a talented and driven Sous Chef to join their team, working alongside the Catering and Hospitality Manager to deliver an inspiring, safe, and profitable menu at their premium café. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a creative, customer-focused food operation in a unique and vibrant setting.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE

As Sous Chef, you will:

  • Lead the café kitchen alongside the Catering and Hospitality Manager.
  • Support in developing a profitable, on-trend, seasonal menu with a horticultural bias.
  • Ensure the highest standard of food preparation, presentation, and customer satisfaction.
  • Assist in achieving monthly sales targets (currently around £55K) and minimising wastage.
  • Maintain excellent stock control and supplier relationships.
  • Be a visible and approachable “face” of the café kitchen, inspiring both the team and customers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with front-of-house to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Help create and deliver menus that inspire, surprise, and delight.
  • Maintain a clean, food-safe, and organised kitchen at all times.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety (minimum Level 2), allergen management, and health & safety standards.
  • Monitor payroll costs, kitchen equipment condition, and operational efficiency.
