We are looking for a Sous Chef to provide a quality food and dining service to our residents. The dining experience of our residents is a significant part of the Inspirit model of care. You will report to the Head Chef and have experience within a commercial kitchen, preferably in aged care. This is a fabulous opportunity to work in a beautiful new home and be part of the new set up.

The key focus areas of the role are

  • Preparation of fresh and nutritious meals for residents in line with their dietary needs and wants
  • Tailor meals for dietary requirements, allergies and personal preferences
  • Prepare texture-modified diets and supplements that remain tasty and appealing
  • Collaborate with the Concierge for special events and Clinical Managers to keep dietary records updated
  • Maintaining a hygienically clean kitchen that is fully compliant with the aged care quality standards
  • Working collaboratively with team members to ensure the effective running of the household, focusing on resident needs and preferences

To be successful in this role you’ll need

  • A heart and passion for providing high quality care to the elderly
  • Strong customer-centric approach and relationship building skills
  • Certificate IV in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) or similar
  • Ability to build relationships with older people
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of workplace health and safety
  • Understanding of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) is preferred
