DESCRIPTION

The Sous Chef is responsible for assisting the Chef in overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, consistency, and efficiency. This role involves supporting menu execution, staff supervision, inventory management, and compliance with health and safety regulations. The Sous Chef plays a crucial role as part of the management team in maintaining kitchen discipline, assisting in training, and ensuring smooth service.
The Sous Chef will maintain a strong presence in the kitchen, upholding the company’s culinary vision and standards while fostering a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of three years of professional cooking experience and one year of supervisory experience.
  • Experience in Italian cuisine preferred.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Food and Safety Management Certificate.
  • Red Seal & First Aid Certificate is an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to remain calm and prioritize tasks under pressure.
  • Precision in following recipes and presentation guidelines.
  • A genuine passion for the restaurant industry and providing excellent customer service.

  • Manage inventory and order supplies as needed.
  • Assist in implementing cost-control measures to optimize profitability.
  • Promote a positive work environment that fosters teamwork, respect, and professionalism.
