Description

We are looking for a Sous Chef to join our busy team in central County Down, just a 25 minute drive from Belfast. Thursday to Monday with weekend flexibility. Closed every Tuesday & Wednesday.
If you have a passion for food and are looking for a new opportunity to showcase your talents, this could be for you. This is a family orientated business and we try to create a friendly environment to work in with flexible work patterns where possible. This is NOT a city centre high volume/high pressure style kitchen so would suit someone who is looking for a less stressful kitchen.
You will work in various sections of the kitchen, producing food of the highest standard using various cooking styles and techniques. Motivation and inspiration are essential. You creations will be showcased by our team.
Supporting the Head Chef in the general running of the kitchen.
Leading a team of chefs in cooking and preparing meals, including checking food quality and overseeing cooking techniques.
Taking responsibility for more technical elements of cuisine.
Working within specified budgets.
Ensuring the kitchen meets high standards of quality.
Completing food hygiene documents to comply with the law and writing environmental health reports when necessary to ensure we retain our 5 star ‘Scores on the Doors’
Establishing strong relationships with staff in other areas of the business, including managers and front of house teams.
Deputising for the head chef in their absence.
Being the voice of the kitchen when communicating with waiters and staff.
Ordering supplies and managing inventory and keeping control of stock.
Organising produce and ensuring strict adherence to food hygiene regulations.
Supervising all food preparation.

Ultimately, you will help minimise operating costs, boost our employee retention and deliver a positive dining experience for our guests.
