The Waikerie Hotel Motel is a successful community-owned hotel with modern dining facilities located in the South Australian Riverland. We are looking for experienced Chef to join our dynamic team and help our executive chef to run the business.

Responsibilities
  • Assisting the Executive Chef in overseeing all kitchen operations, food preparation, and quality control
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with co-workers and customers
  • Ensuring the kitchen adheres to strict health and safety standards
  • Collaborating with the front-of-house team to deliver seamless service
  • Continuously seeking ways to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance the overall dining experience
  • Being responsible for safe service of dishes served to guests with special dietaries (allergies, intolerances, etc)
  • Maintaining correct storage of food
  • Controlling correct temperature of cool rooms and freezers
  • Ensuring sufficient quantity and quality of the food before serving
  • Inspect all food purchases for quality and quantity

To be successful in this role you will NEED:

  • A Certificate IV in Commercial Cooking and relevant food safety certifications
  • With positive and great attitude
  • A passion for creating innovative, flavourful dishes using high-quality, locally sourced ingredients
  • Excellent time management and problem-solving abilities to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Thorough knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations
  • A commitment to maintaining the highest standards of culinary excellence
  • Must have attention to detail, cleanliness and organisational skills.
  • Flexibility to work across all 7 days of the week, including weekends
  • At least 1 year of experience in a kitchen environment, ideally in a similar role.
  • A reliable and self-starting attitude, capable of thriving in a team-focused setting
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team.

Pay: $76,515.00 per year
