JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Indian Cuisine Chef to join our team and play a key role in delivering authentic, high-quality Indian dishes to our valued customers. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in traditional Indian cooking methods, a deep understanding of regional flavors, and a commitment to maintaining the authenticity and quality that define our menu.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Extensive experience in Indian cuisine, including knowledge of regional dishes and traditional cooking techniques (e.g., tandoor, slow-cooked gravies).
  • Proven ability to manage kitchen operations in a fast-paced environment.
  • Creativity and innovation in menu design while maintaining cultural authenticity.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and adherence to food safety standards.
    This role is integral to maintaining the authenticity and reputation of our restaurant as a premier destination for Indian cuisine. We welcome chefs who share our passion for excellence and the art of Indian cooking.
    Job Type: Full-time
    Pay: Up to £38,000.00 per year

Responsibilities
  • Menu Preparation and Development:
  • Prepare a variety of authentic Indian dishes, including curries, tandoori items, breads, and desserts, adhering to traditional recipes and presentation standards.
  • Contribute to menu development by introducing innovative dishes while retaining the essence of Indian cuisine.
  • Ingredient Management:
  • Source and use high-quality spices and ingredients to achieve authentic flavors.
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of all ingredients to maintain freshness and quality.
  • Kitchen Operations:
  • Manage daily food preparation and cooking processes efficiently while adhering to hygiene and safety standards.
  • Oversee stock levels, minimize waste, and maintain inventory control.
  • Team Collaboration and Training:
  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations during peak hours.
  • Train junior kitchen staff on Indian cooking techniques and quality standards.
  • Customer Focus:
  • Ensure consistency in taste, quality, and presentation to meet customer expectations.
  • Adapt recipes or techniques to accommodate dietary preferences or allergies.
