Position Overview
Under the supervision of the General Manager, the Spa Manager is responsible for driving operations forward, managing the daily to day of the spa which includes spa staff, ensuring excellent customer service, managing budgets, inventory, and implementing strategies to maximize revenue and guest satisfaction.
The Spa Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping exceptional experiences for our guests by embodying and elevating the essence of relaxation and wellness. With your expertise, our spa will be a sanctuary where guests can unwind and rejuvenate, making each visit a memorable experience.
The role requires a combination of leadership skills, organizational abilities, and a passion for wellness and luxury service
Shifts: Full-time/Permanent. Days, evenings & weekends.
Salary: Dependent on experience
Location: Canmore, Alberta
Key Responsibilities

  1. Staff Management
  • Recruit, train, and manage spa staff (therapists, receptionists, maintenance) to ensure high-quality service.
  • Create efficient work schedules for staff and ensure enough staff members are available to meet customer demand.
  • Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and offer development opportunities.
  1. Customer Experience
  • Ensure that guests have a positive and relaxing experience.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by addressing guest concerns and resolve complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain high levels of guest satisfaction through consistent service quality. Regularly evaluating service quality and client satisfaction and make necessary adjustments.
  1. Financial Management
  • Oversee budgeting and financial performance.
  • Track and analyze revenue, expenses, and profitability.
  • Develop pricing strategies to maximize revenue while maintaining competitive pricing.
  1. Operational Efficiency
  • Ensure the spa is clean, well-maintained, and properly stocked with supplies, products, and equipment inventory, maintain adequate stock levels, and order new supplies as necessary.
  • Manage spa services and treatments, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality.
  1. Marketing and Promotions
  • Work with the marketing team to develop promotional campaigns to attract new clients and retain existing ones.
  • Plan seasonal offers and packages to increase business.
  • Maintain an online presence (website, social media) to promote services and maintain customer engagement.
  1. Health & Safety
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Regularly inspect the spa’s facilities and equipment for safety and maintenance.
  • Ensure proper sanitation and hygiene protocols are followed.
  1. Sales and Revenue Growth
  • Monitor the performance of spa services and suggest improvements.
  • Upsell treatments and products to clients.
  • Develop long-term goals and business strategies for the spa, identify growth and expansion opportunities, and incorporate industry trends and innovations.

Requirements

  • Degree or certification in hospitality management, business administration, or related field.
  • Certification in spa management or a related field is an asset.
  • Proven experience as a spa manager or in a similar role at a Nordic spa.
  • First aid trained or willing to undertake first aid training.
  • Knowledge of spa treatments, wellness practices, and industry trends.
  • Knowledge of spa software and booking systems is a plus.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management experience.
  • The ability to create financial reports, budgeting, and marketing strategies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • The skill to positively transform customer experience
  • Proficiency with spa management software, point-of-sale (POS) systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
